No Triple Crown is possible in 2026. Kentucky Derby winner Golden Tempo skipped the Preakness, and Preakness winner Napoleon Solo is now targeting the Haskell Stakes in July instead of Belmont. The result is a uniquely interesting Belmont: the Derby winner returns fresh after skipping Preakness; the Derby runner-up has been training at Saratoga; and a class of fresh shooters (Growth Equity, Talk to Me Jimmy, Ottinho) avoided the Preakness specifically to peak here.
